Warranties
 

The following forms a legal agreement between you and Lucky Star Japanese Auto Parts the owner and operator of luckystar-autoparts.com ("Lucky Star").

If you do not agree to the terms mentioned in this page please do not make any purchases from Lucky Star or return the unused product to place of purchase in accordance with the time period allowed for return.

 

General Warranty Policies

 
Lucky Star will pass on to its customers each manufacturer’s standard limited warranty, if any, for parts.

Warranty return value will be based on the terms of the manufacturer warranty. In some cases, it will be prorated based on the length of use and will be less than original purchase price. Return value will be credited to the credit card used to make the original purchase.

Buyer is aware that the part purchased is a used part, and is to be free of defects exclusive of normal wear and tear, and is warranted for a period of 30 days except for Engines and Transmissions (see below) from the date of purchase.

Warranties listed herein is NOT transferable and only applies to the original purchaser and for private, non-commercial use, and only to the vehicle in which the product was originally installed and/or used within.

Warranties are limited to the retail price paid for the product. NEITHER WARRANTOR NOR MANUFACTURER SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, INDIRECT AND SPECIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM DEFECTS IN THE PRODUCT. This warranty does not cover miscellaneous expenses for removal, installation, service, towing or down time, nor does it cover material, labor, or additional parts required for replacement or repair of damages caused by abuse (including fire or wreckage), misuse, neglect, or failure to follow manufacture’s operating and /or installation instructions.

This warranty is a parts exchange warranty. In the event we do not have the part in stock to replace the defective part, Lucky Star reserves the right to either:

  • Repair the defective part,
  • Locate a replacement part, or
  • Provide a refund for the original purchase price except for shipping and handling

Lucky Star shall deem this warranty void if part failure is caused by faulty installation, modification, negligence, racing, or competition use.

Lucky Star will not reimburse the cost of any labor or any other expense incurred by the purchaser, including but not limited to, towing charges, loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience, lodging, oil filters, anti-freeze, telephone or telegraph charges, car or truck rental, gaskets, or seals.

Please inspect part for proper fitment and condition before installing in vehicle! Lucky Star is not responsible for incorrect fitment of part in your vehicle.

If a product you purchased through Lucky Star store fails during the warranty period, you may receive an adjustment by returning the product to Lucky Star retail locations with your receipt. To receive the adjustment, all terms of the warranty must be met.

Please do not disassemble any part you purchased from Lucky Star. Doing so may cause damage which will not be covered under warranty. We do not accept any exceptions! Please note we only cover defects, not other failures. Defects and eligibility for warranty claims will be determined at our store by our personnel, not by the customer.

The warranty expires at the end of the specified period regardless if the part is used or not during that time period. Repairs or exchanges will not extend this limited warranty beyond the described term on the invoice. ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED THROUGH LUCKY STAR.

The Terms and Conditions of Use shall apply to all warranty claims made hereunder. For details and instructions on returning a part, please go to Returns Policy.

 
Performance Parts
Performance parts are not warranted by Lucky Star and all the sales are "as is" and final. If parts are used for racing or competition, they are warranted against manufacturer's defects only. Performance parts are not warranted for wear or breakage under any circumstance. If you would like to return any part, please follow our Returns Policy before you ship or attempt to return them to Lucky Star. Any part that, in our opinion, shows evidence of being used, modified or installed contrary to manufacturer's instructions will not be eligible for warranty or refund consideration.
 
Non-Performance parts
If parts are used for racing or off-road use, they are warranted against manufacturer's defects only. If you would like to return any part, please follow our Returns Policy before you ship or attempt to return them to Lucky Star. Any part that, in our opinion, shows evidence of being used, modified or installed contrary to manufacturer's instructions will not be eligible for warranty or refund consideration.
 
Engines & Installations
 
Available Warranties
90 Days Limited Warranty
 
Policy
This warranty does not apply to damage or loss caused by but not limited to:
  • Shipping and handling.
  • Improper break-in.
  • Use of fuel with nitro, incorrect oil ratio, or less oil other than specified.
  • Crash damage, misuse or abuse resulting from abnormal service.
  • Any modification, alteration, disassembly or abuse of the engine.
  • Use for purposes other than use for which engine was designed.
  • Running engine without adequate cooling.
  • Use of engine for long period of time without taking it for any kind of service or checkup
  • Rusted internal parts.
  • Buyer/Customer/Anyone's disassembly for any reason.
  • Stripped threads resulting from over tightening.
  • Ingestion of dust, dirt, water, or other material.
  • Items that become loose and fall off engine or muffler.
  • Loose screws or fasteners.
  • Tune-ups and adjustments, filters, hoses, belts, lubricants, seals, coolants, gaskets, emission control devices, spark plugs, tune-up parts, etc
 
Limited Warranty does not cover:
  • The cost of labor required to remove and install a repaired or exchanged engine to the vehicle.
  • Towing charges and/or freight or delivery charges.
  • The engines if it is used for competitive driving, racing or even street racing.
  • Loss caused by the failure of a part or parts of the engine that are not covered by this limited warranty.
  • Detonation or pre-ignition damage.
  • Repairs performed without prior authorization from Lucky Star.
  • Heat tabs are installed on every engine. If the center of tab is melted or removed, the warranty becomes void. The warranty does not cover any oil leaks, blown head gasket(s) or any other engine damage due to overheating caused by poor water circulation, clogged radiator, stuck thermostat or a faulty water pump.
  • Any costs associated as a result of a failed emission testing.
  • Any damage as a result of timing belt failure or misalignment.
  • Any shipping charges to, or from Lucky Star.
  • Oil leaks or coolant leaks occurring from seals, hoses, gaskets, switches, sensors, or accessories.
  • Commercial use vehicles.
  • Stock engines that are turbocharged, supercharged, V-tec or are considered a performance or sports car
 
In order for the warranty to be in effect for your purchased engine you must have the orginial reciept of fluid change from a licensed repair shop or oil change specialty shop at the time of warranty claim.
 
Transmissions & Installations

Policy

This warranty applies only to the transmission assembly and internal components of the transmission. This warranty shall not apply to, or include but not limited to any of the following:

  • Repair or replacement required as a result of any accident or misuse.
  • Any transmission used for competition racing or related purposes.
  • Front pump Oil seals and rear output shaft seals and gaskets are not warranted.
  • Any transmission damage resulting from overheating due to lack of lubrication, or a non functional cooling system.
  • Any transmission damage resulting from improper oil levels, installation and calibration
  • Any transmission damage resulting from bad working order and inspection procedures including but not limited to cleaning of cooler lines, clutch adjustment, PCM, bad ground contacts, motor mounts, transmission mounts, bent pans or crimped cooler lines and drive shaft
  • Any transmission with removed or melted heat tabs
  • Any transmission on which the periodic maintenance service requirements as set forth by the original manufacturer have not been met.
  • Any transmission which has been repaired or remodeled by non expert, or a unit to which any device or accessory not conforming to original manufacturer specification has been installed.
  • Labor costs incurred in diagnosis of defects or removal and reinstallation of equipment or any other contingent expenses.
  • Labor on a clutch kit, or other accessory parts purchased with the transmission
 
Buyer agrees that Lucky Star will not be responsible for
  • Incidental or consequential damages
  • Lost profits, sales or income
  • Injury to person or property
  • Oil, antifreeze, fluids or other substances
  • Towing charges
  • Lift, dock or storage fees
  • Telephone calls
  • Freight
  • Substitute transportation, lodging, etc.
  • Unauthorized repairs
 
There are mechanical and electrical parts, components and connections in your vehicle that are necessary for your transmission to perform, but are NOT part of your transmission, that may cause malfunction of or damage to your transmission upon failure. These parts include but are NOT limited to, the computers, solenoids, actuators, relays, wiring harness, temperature sensors, speed sensors, and connectors. No warranty is given for any parts outside of the transmission. It is out of our control and it is your responsibility to verify that the components perform according to the manufacturer specification, only this guarantees the 100% performance of your remanufactured transmission.
 
In order for the warranty to be in effect for your purchased transmission you must have the orginial reciept of fluid change from a licensed repair shop or oil change specialty shop at the time of warranty claim.
 
Brake Pads and Shoes

Policy
The warranty on brake friction parts is limited to manufacturer defects only. The warranty does not cover friction parts with normal wear or that are worn unevenly, which may be an indication of faulty brake calipers.
 
Clutch discs, pressures plates, and kits

To obtain a warranty adjustment for a clutch disc, pressure plate or clutch kit, proof that the flywheel was machined at the time of the installation is required and MUST be presented at the time of the warranty adjustment request.
